How the estimated score works
At the end you see an estimate for each skill on the familiar 10 to 90 scale and an overall estimate. Each question type counts toward the same skills it does in PTE Academic. Reading and listening questions are marked with partial credit and minus marking where Pearson applies them. Writing is estimated from automated checks of word limits, form, structure and key ideas. Speaking is estimated from the content of a transcript made by your browser's speech recognition, so it needs Chrome, Edge or Safari with transcription turned on.
Estimated scores are for practice only. They are not official PTE scores, and pronunciation, oral fluency, grammar and spelling are not measured.
Before you start a mock test
- Set aside about two hours in a quiet room. You cannot pause timers once a part begins.
- Use headphones and a headset microphone, and a computer rather than a phone if you can.
- Allow microphone access when your browser asks. Recordings stay in your browser and are never uploaded to MocksPTE.
- Listening and speaking prompts use recorded natural voices in a mix of accents. Each one plays once, as in the real test.
Mock test or question practice?
Mock tests are best for stamina, timing and a realistic read on where you stand. For building a specific skill, targeted practice is faster: every question type has its own page in the PTE practice tests, with replayable audio and immediate feedback after each answer.
