Why it exists
Good PTE practice is often locked behind signups, trial periods and paid score reports. We think the basics should be open: the chance to try every task with the real timings, see where you went wrong and try again. That is all MocksPTE does, and it does it without asking who you are.
How the questions are made
Every question on the site is original, written to follow the published PTE Academic format: the same question types, time limits, word limits and marking rules. They are not official Pearson questions, they are not copied from real tests, and we do not claim they will appear in your exam. Each objective question has an answer key and an explanation, and each speaking and writing question has a sample answer.
How feedback works
Reading and listening questions are marked automatically with partial credit and minus marking where the real test uses them. Writing answers get automated checks for word limits, form, structure, vocabulary variety and key ideas. Speaking answers are recorded in your browser, and in browsers with speech recognition you also get a transcript that we compare with the original text or the main points of the prompt.
This feedback is useful but limited. It does not measure pronunciation, oral fluency, grammar or spelling, and the scores are estimates, not official PTE scores. We say this wherever scores appear, because we would rather you trust the feedback a little less than trust it wrongly.
How the site is funded
MocksPTE is free to use. The site may show advertising to cover hosting costs. Advertising never gates practice, results or explanations.
