Practice progress
Which questions you have completed, your practice scores, mock test summaries and preferences (such as whether transcripts are turned on) are saved in your browser's local storage on your device. This data is not sent to MocksPTE. You can delete it at any time from the progress page or by clearing your browser data.
Microphone and recordings
Speaking questions ask for permission to use your microphone. Recordings are kept in your browser's memory so you can play them back, and they are discarded when you leave or reload the page. MocksPTE never uploads or stores your recordings.
Speech recognition
If you turn on transcripts, your browser's built-in speech recognition turns your speech into text. Depending on your browser, this may send audio to the browser maker's speech service. In Google Chrome, for example, audio is processed by Google. This processing is governed by your browser provider's privacy policy, not ours. You can turn transcripts off on any speaking question, and practice still works without them.
Audio recordings
Listening and speaking prompts are audio files served from this website. Playing them involves no account and no data about you beyond the ordinary web request for the file. The optional "read the sample aloud" button on feedback panels uses your browser's built-in text-to-speech voice, which in some browsers is provided online by the browser maker.
Contact form
If you use the contact form, your name, email address and message are sent to us through Web3Forms, a form delivery service, and reach us by email. We use them only to reply and to fix problems you report, and we delete messages when they are no longer needed.
Analytics and advertising
On the live site we use Google Analytics to understand which pages are used, with IP anonymization enabled. The site may also show ads from Google AdSense. These Google services can set cookies and collect information about your visit under Google's own privacy policy. You can limit this with your browser's cookie settings, an ad blocker, or Google's ad settings.
Children
MocksPTE is intended for people preparing for an English test, generally aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
